The area around 1st Street is home to some of Tybee’s favorite local restaurants, including Sundae Café, Salt Island Fish & Beer, The Sugar Shack, Agave Mexican Restaurant, and Cockspur Grill. You’ll also find charming island shops like Tybee Island Golf Carts, Tim’s Beach Gear, and the Oceanfront Cottage Rentals office all within easy walking distance.

For recreation off the sand, Memorial Park (between 4th and 5th Street) offers a great place to gather with friends and family. The park features volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a newly renovated playground for little ones to enjoy.

As you make your way south from Mid Beach, you’ll pass by the Tybee IGA Grocery Store, the island’s only full-service grocery, located between 11th and 12th Street ideal for picking up snacks, beach gear, or ingredients for a fresh, coastal dinner at your vacation rental.
